JP (2017, e.2020):
From 1881 the Bouts family ran this as a stationer's. It was also used as a telephone call office until 1921 - very few people had their own telephones at this time.
In 1945 it was taken over by the Moon brothers as a stationer and newsagent; until the 1960s they also ran a lending library from the shop. I'm sure there are still people, like me, who remember ordering their newspapers from Moon's.
When the Moons retired in the late 1970s the shop became a coffee shop and later a wine bar/restaurant. It changed hands a few times over the years and was most recently called the Rotisserie. In the last few months it has become Pizza da Valter, an Italian restaurant.
