Gunman travels by bicycle
An armed robber blasted a cyclist with a shotgun, stole his bike and then rode off to commit another robbery.
The first victim was riding through Battersea Park, London, yesterday evening when the gunman forced him to stop, wounded him in the leg with a sawn-off shotgun then escaped on the bicycle, Scotland Yard said.
Two hours later a raider of similar appearance and also carrying a sawn-off shotgun held up the assistant manager at the Peter Dominic off-licence several miles away in Bellevue Road, Wandsworth Common.
He ran off with about £5OO but no shots were fired and no-one was hurt.
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said the raider was tracked to nearby Wandsworth Common, where fresh bicycle tracks were found.
