Accident on the Ice.
Ou Wednesday an Inquest was held the Ram Inn, Wandsworth, on the body of fine youth, aged 18,. the son Mr. Townsend, shoemaker, of Wandsworth. The deceased, notwithstanding the caution of his father, went to the "Black Sea," a piece of water on Wandsworth Common, about twelve feet deep, and though the ice was very thin, and no person was on it, he ventured to slide. Shortly after this daring act, the ice gave way, and, as no person was near, he was drowned. Verdict — "Accidental Death."
