Hot dogs get the cold shoulder — tuck shops banned near Spencer Park School

Unofficial tuck shops — ice cream and hot dog vans outside a Wandsworth school — were given the thumbs down by councillors. The vans had been banned from a council estate and the approach roads to Spencer Park Secondary Boys' School, and teachers were being asked to make the vans officially out-of-bounds. The decision followed complaints from tenants on the Fitzhugh housing estate at Trinity Road, Wandsworth, about the number of vans parked on estate roads.

West Cross Route could turn Wandsworth streets into "rat runs"

Wandsworth submitted formal evidence to the public inquiry into the West Cross Route — the proposed £60 million motorway on stilts running from Holland Park Avenue to Chelsea Basin — supporting opposition to the scheme. Wandsworth's planning officer Mr David Cole and divisional engineer Mr Kenneth McQueen told Government inspectors at Fulham Town Hall that the road would have a major impact south of the Thames.
