Common Rights — Conservators v. George Rough — Important Decision
A case of some local interest was heard at the Wandsworth County Court. The Conservators of Wandsworth Common sued George Rough, a well-known milkman, who had for some time been in the habit of turning out a herd of cows and other animals on the Common. When a mare was impounded by the Conservators, Rough, with five or six other men, broke open the pound and recovered the animal.
