Charles I gives Allfarthing Manor to Endymion Porter [grant a/infanta?)]
Sir Walter St John introduced. Grammar school (Ofsted?)
Audience sing: (To the tune of the chorus of "My old man said follow the van (And don't dilly dally on the way).)
Original song performed here. There's a much better version by the Muppets here.

The story of our borough
Is one that's full of sorrow
The rich have always stolen from the poor.
From the time of Robin Hood
They have been up to no good
But always on their side they've had the law.
They have built on common land
Any protest has been banned
They have even rooted up the peasants' crops.
Land that once belonged to all
Has been enclosed by fence or wall
And when we've grumbled they've brought in the cops.
King Chas One
Said, I'll have some fun
And give bits of Wandsworth to my friends
I'll give a bit to Endymion Porter
And there'll be some for his friend Sir Walter
(Is he Sir Walter St John or Sir John St Walter?)
Sad to say his school's not there today
It's been closed down just like poor Clapham County
Yes the past has passed away.
